Who: Anyone at Woodward Academy and in our community who has technology items they wish to recycle properly.

What: Technology equipment including:

  • desktop computers & servers
  • laptops/notebooks/tablets
  • monitors including LCDs
  • printers & scanners
  • digital cameras & camcorders
  • mobile phones & accessories
  • cables & computer batteries
  • software & CD/DVDs
  • and almost anything else associated with technology

Note: We do not accept appliances including non-LCD TVs.
All items are assessed by CFY to refurbish and reused in their program. Other items are properly e-cycled by ePlanet eWaste. CFY performs a military-grade data erasing technique on hard drives. Woodward Academy's IT department also e-cyles their equipment through these organizations during the year.

To learn about each part of the program, please see the links to the right.

Cost/Tax Info: A $1 donation for each monitor, CPU, printer or other large items. This will be used to support programs at the Terranova School in Africa*. Tax receipts are available from CFY for equipment donations (they will send you a confirmation after a copy of your form is turned in after the drive), see page 2 of flyer below. Note: at this time these items will NOT be sent to the Terranova School as it is cost prohibitive for WA to both refurbish and ship equipment to Africa.

Why: Keep equipment out of the landfills and give it to a great cause (CFY). Also, help support Woodward’s sister school in Zambia Africa, the Terranova School.

Student Service Hours: Upper School students can earn community service hours by assisting with the drive on Saturday morning. Each drive needs 5-8 students so please email Mrs. McIver for more information. Woodward North Student Council will be assisting with this event.

Thanks for your help in keeping e-waste
out of our landfills!
