  • LS Girl Scout Troop Builds Library for Genesis Shelter

The Woodward Lower School Junior Girl Scout Troop 10715 recently established a library for the Genesis Shelter--a local shelter devoted to helping homeless infants. The Girl Scouts collected books, for all ages, and created a wonderful reading space for the children, decorating the library with posters and other accessories. Additionally, the girls raised money from candy and cookie sales to donate a Nook e-reader to encourage the teenage shelter residents to read.

A collection bin is available at the Lower School for the remainder of the school year to collect additional book donations.

  • Soaps for Terranova

Here is a way you can help our sister school in Zambia, Africa! If you have unused soaps, hair conditioners and shampoos, or other small travel items you have collected, they need them. These products are the perfect size for the staff at the Julia Burke Medical Clinic at the Terranova School to hand out to their community.

It may be hard to believe, but in their world, soap is a special thing. Your help will be greatly appreciated and Mr. Dietz (MS assistant principal) thanks you from the kids at Terranova School. Please gather these new items and drop them off at the Middle School front desk.
