The Middle School Literary Magazine, Inner Voices, is a yearly publication that is published each May. The magazine consists of seventh and eighth grade student writings and artwork. Students may submit entries of poetry or short stories for possible publication, but most entries come from monthly contests. This year the magazine will sponsor contests in poetry, photography, short stories, memoirs, fantasy writing, and drawing. Winners of these contests receive cash prizes. Please contact sponsors, Carolyn Kramlich, at carolyn.kramlich@woodward.edu if you have questions.

GISA Spelling Bee

The Middle School English Department sponsors an annual spelling bee open to all students in grades seven and eight. The local bee is conducted in January and students will be notified of guidelines and registration in December. The local bee is a written contest with a word bank derived from the middle school vocabulary text, Three Dimensions of Vocabulary Growth.

The top two winners of this bee will go on to compete in the Georgia Independent School Association Area Bee held here at Woodward each February. The top ten winners from the area private schools will go on to compete in the district GISA bee in Macon later that month. Sponsors for the Middle School Spelling Bee are Mrs. Tisa Anderson and Mrs. Carolyn Kramlich. For more information, please contact Ms. Kramlich at carolyn.kramlich@woodward.edu.
