Our goal at the Primary School library is to help patrons locate and obtain material, both printed and digital, for pleasure reading, for personal interest, or for research projects. The library offers a print collection of over 7,000 books and a "virtual library" with ebooks, audio books, encyclopedias, and databases accessible to all members of the Woodward community.

Need help or passwords? Contact your librarian, Mrs. McMichael.

  • Ah . . . TIme to Read and Relax!

    PS Parents -

It is both an honor and a pleasure to teach your student(s) during library-media classes and to assist them in reading selections. The Library-Media Center is a busy place and we hope that your young one finds visiting exciting and inspiring.

The most appealing thing about summer (in my opinion) is the extra time to pursue personal interests, self-development and READing. Please make reading a integral part of your family's summer. A family culture of reading ususally produces avid readers!

Here is a link to the library-media web page where families can find many resources available to them over the summer --

and here is a link to our summer reading list which is a list of suggestions for you and your child to explore --

Follow the Library-Media Center on Twitter @LarisaMcLearns and access more library information online via Edline which links to my blog, The Road to Reading.

Best wishes for a happy, fun-filled summer with lots of time for amazing books!

  • Tumblebooks is Fun!

Your child can visit http://www.tumblebooks.com/ and enjoy being read to aloud (read aloud function may also be disabled). Most students know the username and password, but if you need it, please email your child's teacher or Mrs. McMichael.

Also, to access Tumblebooks on an iPad, please follow these simple steps:

    1. Go to the PS Library web page
    2. Click on the icon for Tumblebooks
    3. Log in
    4. Type "iPad" in the TumbleSearch field
    5. All of the books shown will play on iPads (about 100)
    6. Click the screen expand button once the book begins

  • Trueflix and Bookflix: Resources for eBooks & Educational Videos

The Primary School Library is dedicated to providing more book titles and educational content digitally. We have recently acquired a subscription to Trueflix and Bookflix which is accessible at school as well as home, and indeed, anywhere there is Internet access. These online resources also work great on most handheld devices. Here are the remote access links to these sites:

Use the same username and password as Brainpop and Tumblebooks. Again, many students are familiar with the username and password combination, but if assistance is needed, please email Mrs. McMichael or your child's classroom teacher. Try Trueflix and Bookflix today!
