Middle School Supply List for 2014-15

Supplies for Middle School Students Enrolled in One or More Transition Classes

Because we begin working on organizational skills from the first day, the following supplies must be in class by the second day of school. Each item is part of the overall student training in the organization for study.

General Supplies for All Middle School Transition Students

  • A. Notebooks - Three 1 ½” three ring notebooks which will function as the basic organizer for the students’ papers.
  • B. Five sets of dividers (4 – 5 tabs per set)
  • C. Wide rule notebook paper – not college rule.
  • D. Writing implements
    1. Pens- black and blue(minimum of 5 each) (Other colors may not be used for official work) 2. 2. Red pens (minimum of 5) for grading
    3. Green pens (minimum of 5) for correcting English
    4. Pencils – (minimum of 5) #2 pencils
    5. Two yellow highlighters
    6. 1 box colored pencil
  • G. Sturdy book bag such as L.L. Bean Deluxe
  • H. Gym Lockers - S tudents will need to purchase a lock for PE. These can be purchased in the Campus Store.
  • I. Miscellaneous
    1. Soft erasers
    2. Reinforcements
    3. At least six packets of packet-sized Kleenex to keep in his/her locker/book bag.
    4. Package 3X5 cards
    5. Pencil pouch for each 3-ring binder
    6. Bubble pencil pouch for calculators – optional
    7. Calculator (TI-30 X IIS only)
    8. Three hole punch that fits into the rings of the notebook

Additional Specific Supplies for Each Discipline and / or Grade:

Assignment Books:

  • 7th Grade – An agenda will be give to students at the beginning of school
  • 8th Grade – 60 or 70 page count spiral notebook

English and Reading - Two different colored highlighters – one yellow and one another color (blue, pink or green)

Science and Math -

  • 1. Five 3 – hole punched 1-subject spiral notebooks for Math homework
  • 2. 2 packages of graph paper or 2 spiral bound graph paper notebooks
  • 3. Clear plastic protractor with inches and centimeters (7th graders)
  • 4. Ruler (clear), 6 inch with “CM” on opposite side
