About

Graphic Standards

The graphic identity of an organization embodies its goals and objectives. Since our graphic identity is the cornerstone of all communication efforts, it is essential that its integrity is protected. Use of the graphic identity carries with it the responsibility to uphold the ideals of our mission. It benefits everyone involved when the identity is applied consistently to convey one clear message. We are proud of our role as a source of learning and knowledge for students, faculty, staff and the community at large. Our graphic identity communicates the image of a school committed to excellence.

There are two logo systems that are used in the Academy: the standard Woodward Academy logo (two options) and the set of athletics logos. Below you will find the treatment for each. Either of the standard logos may be used. The logo without the large “W” preceding it will be placed on all publications generated by the advancement office, school-wide stationery (including business cards) and the website.

Official Logo and Word Mark

The official logo must appear in a prominent position on all communication documents, and all uses must be approved by the director of communications. Shown below is the flush left configuration of the logo. In this configuration, it is unacceptable to change any aspect of it and their relationship in size and spacing. Below are the proportions, proper colors and fonts that make up the logo. The font is Times, and only Times should be used on the official logo.

Approved Academy Size

The logo and word mark must not be smaller than 2 1/8 inches in length and 3/8 of an inch in height. It must not be placed close to distracting design elements and must not become part of a larger pattern or design element. There must also be an area of isolation for the logo and word mark of ½ inch or more.

Approved Academy Colors

The logo and word mark should be reproduced in the official Academy colors. The official Woodward Academy Pantone® is 201c (C:0.0 M:100.0 Y:65.0 K:34.0) and black/white. If color printing is not an option, the logo and word mark should be reproduced in black (100% tint) or may be completely reversed out into white. For the web site colors, please email feedback@woodward.edu.

The Academy Athletics Logos

The official logos are the part of the Woodward Academy graphic identity system. The logos were created to co-exist with the standard Academy logo and other pre-existing logos. The logo must be consistently applied within these guidelines.

Use of the Logo and Word Mark

The use of this logo and word mark is restricted to the Academy athletics department, and all uses must be approved by the sports information director or director of public relations. The official logo must appear in a prominent position on all communication documents. Three are three primary athletics logos for the Academy, but each sport has its own version as well. It is unacceptable to change any aspect of these logos and their relationship in size and spacing. Below are the proper colors and fonts that make up the logos. The fonts are Times and Blaze, and only Times and Blaze should be used.

Reproducing the Logo and Word Mark

All authorized logos and word mark configurations are available in digital formats. Do not scan or image the logos or word mark from reproductions or copy it from the Academy’s web site. Digital files containing the official Logos and Word Mark can be obtained in formats readable by Macintosh® or Windows® platforms from the athletics office or from director of communications.
