What is the procedure if we know ahead of time that my child will be absent for another reason besides illness?

A

Let the teacher know ahead of time concerning the absence to collect any assignments.

What is the procedure for my student to sign in after school has begun?

A

Please accompany your child to the Primary School office to sign in.

Q

What is the procedure if my student needs to sign out before school is dismissed?

A

Please check with the teacher to make sure you schedule appointments during non-academic time, then send a note or e-mail ahead of time to your child's teacher. When it comes time to check out your child, come to the office to sign out your child and the administrative assistant will call the teacher.

What is the procedure for visiting the school?

A

Everyone should sign in at the office and get a name tag. You may have lunch with your child and sit outside. When lunch is over, please give them a hug and check out in the office.

What are the uniform guidelines?

A

Please check with the Primary School handbook or visit the uniform page.

How can I schedule a conference with my child's teachers?

A

You may schedule a conference by calling or e-mailing the teacher. There are two scheduled conference days a year

Does the Primary School have a "lost and found"?

A

There is a lost and found bench for clothing in the gym. Smaller items such as jewelry are kept in the office.

What if my child has left or lost something on the bus?

A

You should check with Student Transport at 404.765.4520.

How do I contact my child's teacher?

A

Send a note in your child's folder or e-mail them, first name.last name@woodward.edu or look in the online or printed directory to call and leave a message on the teacher's voice mail.

Does my child have a change in his/her daily routine?

A

For any change in your child's daily routine, especially transportation home from school, a note must be sent to your child's teacher and the front office explaining the change. This is the only way we can be sure to have your child where he/she needs to be. If you have a change during the day, contact the office before 2:00.

What is the procedure if my child misses a day?

A

If your child misses a day of school due to illness, you must contact an administrative assistant in the office before 11AM if you would like homework assignments sent home with another student or faxed to your home/work.
