Student Use of Technology at Woodward
At Woodward Academy, our focus on technology is to support and enhance the curriculum in accordance with our strategic initiative to create programs that reflect the technology requirements and competencies that students will bring to the classroom in years to come. Our students are growing up in an era of rapid change in which technology is driving unprecedented advances in both our society and educational institutions. In recent years, a constant stream of new products and services have been introduced to both consumers and schools which have provided a variety of new platforms for learning, creating, communicating and collaborating.
Woodward utilizes a variety of devices and platforms (as opposed to a single device or platform) to support our goal of becoming a national model for college-preparatory education. We believe that allowing your child to experience learning with multiple devices and platforms will enable them to develop the skills necessary to grow and thrive in a 21st century global community that values technology literacy and innovation.
Woodward provides a robust infrastructure and an assortment of resources to support student and faculty use of technology, including: Google Apps for Education, Smart Technologies interactive whiteboards, Dell computer labs, Apple computer labs, iPads, iPods, TI-Nspire Handhelds, robotics programs, media production tools and Atomic Learning tutorials. Our technology team includes experienced educators who assist faculty and students at every grade level, have presented at regional and national conferences and are members of Educause and the International Society for Technology in Education.
