The Admission Interview
Admissions interviews are required for all Main Campus applicants for grades three and above. Once the Admissions Office receives an application, the parents are then contacted to arrange an interview. Usually, our appointments are scheduled to last for about fifty minutes. While it is not mandatory, we do ask that both parents come with the child since the process is designed to include parents as well as students.
During the interview, we will try to help you understand the programs and services offered at Woodward Academy. Our objective is to facilitate your introduction to the Academy in the easiest and most informative way. We hope, too, that you will find the process fun and interesting.
While we will provide a general overview of the school and the opportunities available, most people find it helpful to spend some time prior to your visit discussing some specific questions for which you seek answers. Bring these questions with you to the visit.
Candidates applying for the Transition Program will also need to schedule an interview with the Director of the Transition Program. This interview will be scheduled when you are contacted to set up the initial interview.
Grade specific tours are available to candidates and their families after their interview as needed. Please inform us when scheduling your interview if you would like a tour as well.
Main Campus - Thursday Tour
Group tours are offered at the Admissions Office on the Main Campus in College Park every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. starting September 11, 2014 and continuing until February. These tours are general tours that visit the individual school buildings for the grades in which you have interest. Reservations are required for these tours and can be made by clicking the link below.
Group tours are offered on the Woodward North Campus in Johns Creek once a month at 1:00 p.m. starting October 14, 2014 and continuing until February. These tours are general tours of the North Campus. Reservations are required for these tours and can be made by clicking the link below.
The Main Campus Open House is a structured event that will be held on November 16, 2014 and will run from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please reserve your space at the Open House on or before November 13, 2014 by completing the Reservation Form.
The North Campus Open House is a structured event that will be held on January 25, 2014 and will run from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please check back regarding reservations for the North Campus Open House.
Both Open Houses include a tour of the campus led by a faculty member and a current student, an opportunity to experience a portion of Woodward’s Fine Arts, as well as a reception with a question and answer session. The Open House is an excellent way to visit with current students, parents and faculty members and learn more about the Academy.
