  • Cailtlin Cooper '14 Finalist for HS Athlete of the Year

    Woodward Academy alumna Caitlin Cooper '14 has been selected as a finalist for the High School Athlete of the Year Award, reflecting the 2014 athletic seasons. The award is given annually to the top high school athlete and is awarded by the Atlanta Sports Council. The winner will be announced at the Atlanta Sports Council's Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 15th.

  • Basketball Sweeps Sandy Creek

    The girls and boys basketball teams played host to Sandy Creek on Tuesday evening in a key region 5-AAAA match-up. Woodward Academy would sweep the Patriots as the Lady War Eagles won handily 61-31 and the boys team played a solid, around game to win 60-47. Both teams will host Whitewater on Friday, January 23rd in another key region match-up. Girls game will tip-off at 6 PM with boys to follow at 7:30.

  • Wrestling Captures Gladiator Duals

    The War Eagle wrestling team traveled to John's Creek on Saturday, January 17th to compete in the Gladiator Duals. Woodward Academy would finish the day with a perfect 5-0 record to bring home the 1st place trophy. Congratulations to all wrestlers on a great weekend of wrestling.

  • Woodward Alum Kim Beck '04 Honored by A-10 Conference

    Woodward Academy alum Kim Beck '04 will be honored by the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Conference in March as a new member of the Atlantic 10 Legends. Kim was the leader of the George Washington women's basketball team during one of the storied program's most dominant eras. The point guard was the floor general for four straight NCAA Tournament teams, leading the Colonials to 101 wins, four Atlantic 10 regular-season titles and back-to-back Sweet 16s in 2007 and 2008. In addition, Kim will be inducted into the Woodward Academy/GMA Athletic Hall of Fame on March 1st, 2015. Read more about Kim's Atlantic 10 Legend honor here.

  • Swimming/Diving Dominates Wolf Pack Invitational

    The girls and boys swimming and diving team traveled to Augusta over the weekend for the annual Wolf Pack Invitational. Both teams turned in dominate performances with the girls capturing 1st place overall while the boys captured 2nd. Congratulations to both teams on an outstanding performance.

War Eagle Athletic Facilities

The Athletic Complex on Main Campus includes three gymnasiums, Dodd, Padget and New Gyms; the  eight-lane Olympic pool in the Kennedy Natatorium; the Drucker Baseball Field; Sutherland Family Softball Field; Shailendra Tennis Complex; eight-lane Olympic size track as well as numerous practice fields including the new Willingham Fields.

The  gymnasium facility also includes locker rooms, a fitness & weight center, classrooms and offices, the Tyler H. Brown Student Center, and the Campus Store. The 5,000-seat lighted Graham Hixon Field at Colquitt Stadium includes stands for both home and away teams, a video scoreboard, an artificial turf field, and concession stands.
