• Riflery Falls to Union Grove

  The Woodward Academy Riflery team lost to Union Grove 1148 to 1142 in the semi-final round of the State Championships on Thursday. High scorers for Woodward were Haynes Curtis 291, Jackie Morris 289, and Abby Lee's 286. Woodward's Riflery team now awaits the results of the other semi-final matches to see if they are one of the two teams invited to the State Championship Match.

• Boys Track & Field First at St. Pius

  The Woodward Academy Boys Track and Field team took first place at St. Pius on Wednesday. Woodward defeated host St. Pius and John's Creek. First place finishes were recorded by: Juwan Thompson 100M, Justin Watkins 400M, Chris Burnett 3200M, Andrew Kala - High Jump, Michael Bergen - Pole Vault, Ryan Carter - High Jump, Henry Anderson - Shot Put and Discus, and Marcus Polk, Ian Cadger, Nat Johnson, Justin Watkins 4x400M. • Girls Track and Field Competes at St. Pius

  The Woodward Academy Girls Track and Field team finished 3rd at St. Pius on Wednesday. Top finishers for the Lady War Eagles were: Darington Richardson - 100M, Avana Story - Shot Put and Sydney Cooper, Darington Richardson, Nia Edwards, and Alex Adams - 4x100M. • Boys Soccer Defeats Mary Persons

  The Varisty Boys Soccer team moved to 4-1 for the season with a 1-0 win over conference rival Mary Persons. The War Eagles dominated early possession and scored from a superb team move. The 18 pass move pulled Mary Persons defense apart. Simon Fragakis fantastic delivery was headed into the bottom corner by Don Collins leaving the GK no chance.

  With a first round win over Lee County HS 1133 - 1120 at Leesburg GA, the Woodward Academy Riflery team advanced to the State Semi-finals at Union Grove on Thursday, March 18, 2010. High Scorers for Woodward were Haynes Curtis 292 and Abby Lee's 286.
