  • Girls & Boys Golf Sweeps Region Titles

    The girls & boys golf teams each played in their respective region 5-AAAA championship meets on Tuesday in Carrollton, GA. The girls squad played at the Oak Mountain Golf Course and ran away with the overall team championship with a score of 272. Mia Gill won individual medalist honors with a 83 while Jakari Harris earned runner-up honors. The team championship is the 16th in the programs 18 year history.

    The boys team played at Sunset Hill Country Club and brought home the region title with a team score of 306, 18 shots better than 2nd place Carrollton at 324. A pair of War Eagle golfers finished tied for low medalist honors as Jake Lawson and George Stradtman finished with rounds of 75. George sank a birdie putt on the 2nd playoff hole to capture low medalist honors with Jake finishing as region runner-up.

    Both teams have now automatically qualified for the State Championship meet on May 18th. Girls will play at Applewood Golf Course in Keysville, GA while the boys will play at the Waynesboro Country Club in Waynesboro, GA.

  • Girls & Boys Soccer Region Champions

    The girls and boys soccer programs both completed perfect region 5-AAAA schedules on Thursday evening to capture the region titles in soccer. The girls cemented their region championship with a 7-0 win over Carrollton to improve to 10-1-2 on the season. The boys already had the title locked up before Thursday's match vs. Carrollton but a 2-1 victory improved the War Eagles to 11-1 overall.

    Both teams will enter the AAAA state tournament as the #1 seed from region 5-AAAA and maintain home field advantage through the quarterfinals. State playoffs are set to begin April 28th/29th.

  • Antone Williams Breaks 110M Hurdle Record

    Congratulations to junior Antone Williams who set a new school record in the 110M hurdles at the All-Comers Last Chance meet on April 14th. Antone's time of 15.21 breaks a 23 year-old record. Both track and field teams will be competing in the Region 5-AAAA Championships on April 23rd at Carrollton High School.

  • Boys 1st, Girls 2nd at Etowah Invitational

    The boys and girls track & field teams competed in the Etowah Invitational over the weekend with both Woodward squads turning in exceptional performances. The boys captured the meet championship while the girls team finished an impressive 2nd overall. You can see all the top place winners and results right here.

    Both squads will compete on Tuesday at Mill Creek in the All-Comers Last Chance meet before starting preparations for the Region 5-AAAA championships at Carrollton on April 23rd.

War Eagle Athletic Facilities

The Athletic Complex on Main Campus includes three gymnasiums, Dodd, Padget and New Gyms; the  eight-lane Olympic pool in the Kennedy Natatorium; the Drucker Baseball Field; Sutherland Family Softball Field; Shailendra Tennis Complex; eight-lane Olympic size track as well as numerous practice fields including the new Willingham Fields.

The  gymnasium facility also includes locker rooms, a fitness & weight center, classrooms and offices, the Tyler H. Brown Student Center, and the Campus Store. The 5,000-seat lighted Graham Hixon Field at Colquitt Stadium includes stands for both home and away teams, a video scoreboard, an artificial turf field, and concession stands.
