  • Woodward Academy Soccer Programs Ranked 3rd

    The girls and boys varsity soccer programs both advanced to this year's AAAA state semifinals and both finished the year ranked #3 in the state in the final AAAA rankings. The girls team concluded the year with a 14-2-2 while the boys finished 15-2 overall. Congratulations to both teams on their trip to the final four and another great year!

  • Girls & Boys Golf Competes in State Meets

    Woodward Academy girls and boys golf teams competed in the AAAA State Golf Championships on Monday. The girls team finished 4th overall and was lead by senior Mia Gill's score of 82. The boys team placed 5th overall with sophomore Joe Hewes turning in the War Eagles low score of 5-over 77. Congratulations to both teams on another great season.

  • Lacrosse All-Area Team Announced

    The girls lacrosse All-Area team for Area 1 was recently announced and the Woodward Academy girls lacrosse team had three players named to this year's squads. Congratulations to senior Madison Richardson and sophomore Jade Robertson on being named 1st team All-Area as well as sophomore Kennedy Lollis, who was named Honorable Mention. The Lady War Eagles finished the year 11-5 overall and advanced to the A-AAAAA state quarterfinals.

  • Boys Soccer Places 7 on All Region Squads

    Woodward Academy boys soccer team captured the region 5-AAAA championship this season, finished the season with a 15-2 record and advanced to the AAAA final four. This week the War Eagles placed seven players on the 2015 all-region squads. Earning 1st team all-region honors were seniors Jack Sard, Adian Gould and Nathanial Wallace. 2nd team all-region honors went to seniors Taisen Garama, John Hopkins, Keith Lollis and sophomore Joshua Harrison.

  • Girls Tennis AAAA State Champions

    The Woodward Academy girls tennis team captured the AAAA state championship on Saturday at the International Park in Clayton County. The Lady War Eagles defeated Buford 3-0 to capture their first state title since 2001. Congratulations to the Lady War Eagles on an outstanding team effort!

  • Girls & Boys Soccer Advance to AAAA Final Four

    The varsity girls soccer team defeated visiting Chesatee on Friday evening 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the AAAA state playoffs. The win advances the Lady War Eagles to the state semi-finals were they will face Marist. Match has been set for Tuesday, May 12th beginning at 7 PM at Marist's stadium field. The winner will advance to the state finals at Mercer University on May 14th.

    The boys varsity soccer team also advanced to the AAAA state semi-finals with a 7-4 win over North Oconee. The War Eagles took an early 2-0 lead over the Titans and never trailed from that point on. The win sets up a trip to St. Pius to take on the Golden Lions. Match is set to be played Tuesday, May 12th but kickoff time as not be announced at this time. The winner will advance to the state finals also to be held at Mercer University on May 14th.

War Eagle Athletic Facilities

The Athletic Complex on Main Campus includes three gymnasiums, Dodd, Padget and New Gyms; the  eight-lane pool in the Kennedy Natatorium; the Drucker Baseball Field; Sutherland Family Softball Field; Shailendra Tennis Complex; eight-lane Olympic size track as well as numerous practice fields including the new Willingham Fields.

The  gymnasium facility also includes locker rooms, a fitness & weight center, classrooms and offices, the Tyler H. Brown Student Center, and the Campus Store. The 5,000-seat lighted Graham Hixon Field at Colquitt Stadium includes stands for both home and away teams, a video scoreboard, an artificial turf field, and concession stands.
