  Former Woodward Academy Football player Corey Manning '08 was recently named to the Big East All Academic team. Corey is a junior tight end on the University of Connecticut Football team. This is the second time Corey has been named to the Big East All Academic Team. You can read more here.

• Arlon Harper '11 Big South All-Freshman Team

  Woodward Academy Alumnus Arlon Harper '11 was recently named to the Big South's All-Freshman Basketball Team. Arlon is a freshman guard on the Charleston Southern Men's Basketball team and was twice named the conference's freshman of the week during the regular season. You can read the whole story here.

  Avana Story, a Senior on the Woodward Academy Track and Field team and the nation's top ranked weight thrower, was recently featured in an ESPN High School news story. Avana currently has 5 of the top 7 indoor/outdoor throws this year. Read the entire story here.

• Chloe Bootstaylor and Haley Zagoria Earn Academic Honors

  Woodward Academy Girls Golf team alumni Chloe Bootstaylor and Haley Zagoria, both 2011 graduates, recently earned Academic recognition playing college golf. Chloe, a member of the Rhodes College Women's Golf Team, was named Academic All-American by the National Golf Coaches Association. Haley, a member of the Georgia State University Golf Team, was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the Fall semester.

• Lacey Agnew '06 Launches Pro Golf Career

  Lacey Agnew, Woodward Academy class of 2006, is preparing to begin her career as a professional golfer on the Symetra Tour (LPGA's version of the Nationwide Tour) as well as select LPGA tour events. Lacey was a member of Woodward Academy's Girls Golf team which captured State Championships in three consecutive years (2004, 2005 and 2006). You can read the whole story here.

• Olivia Boggs '11 Scholastic All American

  Congratulations to Olivia Boggs '11 who has been named a Scholastic All American for the 2010-2011 academic year by USA Swimming! This is the third consecutive year that Olivia has earned this honor. To qualify, a swimmer has to meet exceptionally challenging swimming time standards in an individual event and have maintained a 3.5 GPA. Congratulations again to Olivia on this outstanding achievement.
