Parent Community School Committees

Within each school division, the Parent Community is represented by a chair, vice chair, and secretary/treasurer who help coordinate their school's events. Officers and committee chairs work diligently to create and promote opportunities for involvement to ensure that all who wish to volunteer are contacted, welcomed, and included. Room parents, event chairs, and volunteers are needed to help with the organization and execution of all Parent Community activities at Woodward Academy.

As a way of showing gratitude to the teachers at Woodward, the Parent Community hosts many teacher luncheons for each school. For more information, please contact your school Chairperson.

Committees-At-Large and Volunteer Opportunities

Parents have the opportunity to help out in the concession stand before and during the Academy’s home football games and other sporting events. It is a fun job in a lively atmosphere and a great way to meet other parents.

A Parent Community operation. We accept, on consignment, current Woodward uniforms and textbooks for resale to other Woodward students.

Parents can volunteer at the Consignment Shop and assist in processing, tagging, and selling used books and uniforms. Business hours for the shop are Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 12 to 4 p.m. During the summer, hours may vary, and additional help may be needed. Parents are welcome to volunteer for shifts as their schedule allows.

Parent Programming, the parent education arm of the Parent Community, provides Woodward families with a wide variety of programs and classes on parenting and child development. Presentations are delivered by experienced professionals, including our own Academy administrators. Speakers engage and empower parents of students from all schools.

For more information, please contact the Parent Programming Committee.

Super Goober Day:
Super Goober Day

This action-packed festival is held each fall. This event is held on the Lower Field on Main Campus. Families of Pre-K through 6th graders will gather for an afternoon full of fun. Many volunteers are needed to make SGD a success.

This committee will assist in the integration of new families into the Woodward community and will help make this transition as easy as possible. This committee plans events that provide the opportunity to meet with school division administrators, current parents, and student ambassadors. These welcoming events take place at locations on and off campus between the months of May and September.

This committee helps support the Advancement Office and The Woodward Fund, which impacts every single student and teacher.
