Every summer, Woodward Academy is filled with aspiring scholars, artists, athletes, explorers and performers.

Our goal is to provide every summer programs participant with a positive and uplifting summer experience while they enjoy new activities, meet new challenges and share the summer with new friends. Woodward provides summer bus service to and from the Main Campus from numerous locations around metro Atlanta for a small additional fee.

Summer Camps

All camps are open to the public unless noted otherwise.  Maintaining our long tradition of academic excellence, Woodward provides a variety of summer camp sessions to assist students in preparation for the upcoming school year. All academic camps are conducted by qualified and experienced Woodward Academy teachers. Camps are offered to assist students with improving skills in writing, math and SAT preparation.

Sports camps at Woodward are a great way for your aspiring athlete to try a new sport or fine-tune and master skills in their favorite sports. The camps will provide individual instruction for each skill level, from beginner to experienced. The focus for each camp is to have fun. The campers will compete in small groups and work on each aspect of the sport. They will be instructed and supervised by Woodward coaches and former and current Woodward athletes.

From technology to fine arts, enrichment camps provide a number of summer camp opportunities for the aspiring robotics engineer, junior movie director, scientist, future artist, dancer or musician. All camps are held in Woodward facilities which serve programs in art, dance, music and technology during the school year. Our enrichment camps are designed to inspire and build confidence in students as they learn, explore new activities and have fun.

Summer School

The Summer School Academic Program is an opportunity for Woodward Academy students who are entering grades 9-12 to develop areas of special interest, reach proficiency, or remediate weaknesses. Small class sizes, innovative teaching methods and a relaxed atmosphere all help to create an excellent learning environment. Woodward students who are entering grades 9-12 may apply to attend one for-credit course. All courses begin on June 4th, and the 4 week (single semester) courses end on June 29th. As Chemistry (CP) is two semesters of credit, it will begin on June 4th and end on July 20th. For scheduling purposes, please note there will be no class the week of July 2-8, in observance of Independence Day. All courses without a minimum number of registrants are subject to cancellation. Students MUST receive approval from the Academic Dean in the Upper School before enrolling and paying for a Summer Academic class. Please fill out the request form if you have an interest in this program.
