For 11 consecutive years, Woodward Academy has ranked in the top 10 in the large workplace category of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Top Workplaces program, out of 175 of Atlanta's top companies. Since the program's inception, Woodward has been number one for four years and number two for six years. President Stuart Gulley has received the highest honor in the special award category for leadership in large organizations three times. In 2016, Woodward also received the the special award category for Appreciation. ("Employees feel genuinely appreciated at Woodward Academy.") And in 2020, Woodward received the special award for "Meaningfulness." 


In 2015, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution additionally awarded Woodward Academy in the special category of "Best Benefits" for employees, across all categories. Woodward's complete benefits package includes health, dental, disability insurance and a 403(b) Retirement plan through TIAA.

Professional Development

Woodward Academy offers multiple professional development opportunities to all 668 employees to introduce participants to the inner workings of the Academy—including academic affairs, admissions, advancement, governance, facilities, dining services, and student transportation. These opportunities assure continuity of leadership succession in administrative roles, as well as provide a meaningful way for employees to experience professional and personal growth.
