Mission: 
The Woodward Academy Black Alumni Association highlights excellence among its members and creates a community that works together to empower students and alumni, cultivate lasting connections, strengthen the Woodward community, and provide the space for scholars and professionals to connect and deepen relationships beyond the Academy. 

Vision: 
As the Woodward Academy Black Alumni Association, we strive to provide networking opportunities, social events, and philanthropic support to the school. We connect alumni to current students with shared experiences in order to provide mentorship that will equip them with the necessary skills to navigate through their time at the Academy and beyond graduation. Together we will strengthen the Woodward community through advocacy and mobilization that will foster greater educational opportunities and resources for Black students, school organizations, and faculty.

Woodward's Young Alumni Council is a leadership organization dedicated to fostering and sustaining relationships with graduates of the last decade to keep them engaged and actively involved with the Academy and to promote the social, professional, philanthropic, and service interests of recent alumni.

Join us for a Student Alumni Ambassador (SAA) lunch and learn as a speaker! Through alumni-led workshops and meetings, students are given insight into the professional world and learn about networking and philanthropy.  We also have assemblies throughout the year for Upper School students to hear from successful alumni in various fields.

The Big Chill is an annual alumni event that supports need-based student financial aid through a live and silent auction. Every year, volunteers form a host committee to plan and organize the event while securing sponsors and auction items.

Class Reunions are celebrated every five years, and reunion volunteers are the key to a fun and successful event! Alumni have the best insights into the kind of celebration their classmates would enjoy, and that makes a real difference in the quality of the experience.
