Senior Named McDonald's All American

Senior Walker Kessler was named a 2020 McDonald's All American. Since 1978, McDonald’s has been investing in the future of the sport of basketball and local communities through the All American Games. The Games have showcased the best high school talent in the country, including Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Candace Parker, LeBron James, Maya Moore, among many others. Annually, 24 boys and 24 girls are selected from a pool of more than 900 nominees to participate in the Games, providing an opportunity for the nation’s most talented student-athletes to compete with one another on a grand stage. The 2020 Games will be held April 1 in Houston.

Walker is a three-year letter winner and two-time Region Player of the Year recipient and has garnered All State consideration for the last four years including First Team All State as a sophomore and junior. This season, Walker earned MVP honors at the Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions in Illinois and set the tourney record for blocked shots. He was a finalist for the USA Under 19 team and has been selected as a participant in the 2020 Nike Hoop Summit. To-date, Walker has scored more than 1,800 points, collected 863 rebounds, and has 423 blocked shots. Walker has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill next year.
