The Woodward baseball squad finished the season with a perfect 14-0 region record capturing the Region 3-AAAAA Championship for the second consecutive year. Overall, the War Eagles finished 24-9, including key wins over perennial state contenders Newnan, Northside Columbus, Riverwood, and Jefferson. After starting the season 7-3 against a tough non-region line-up, the War Eagles completed a 14-game winning streak in early March. As a result, the team entered the AAAAA State Playoffs as the No. 1 seed from Region 3-AAAAA and hosted Veterans in round one.

Woodward drew a tough first-round playoff matchup with Veterans. After losing game one, the War Eagles battled back to even the series for a deciding game three. Unfortunately, the season ended in extra innings. Woodward was led at the plate by Senior Chandler Pollard, who hit a team-high .520, including a team-leading 36 RBIs. Junior Griffin Sorrow led the War Eagles with 12 home runs and nine doubles. Sophomore Austin Mance hit .394 with 37 hits in a key DH role. Sophomore Dash Edwards led the War Eagles on the mound with a 2.97 ERA and a team-high eight wins. Junior Drew Moss contributed with a 3.29 ERA, and sophomore Tyler Cason also battled on the mound with a 3.97 ERA.
