Boys Golf 2020-2021

The boys golf team has a history of contending for the GHSA State title every year with this season being no different. Excited to be competing again this season, the War Eagles captured first place at both the Blue Devil Shootout at Arrow Pointe Golf Course and the Westminster Invitational at Wolf Creek Golf Course. In April, at the Area 2-AAAAA Championships, the War Eagles threatened the low score school record shooting an impressive 293 to capture the 2021 Area Championship.

Their performance at the Area competition qualified the War Eagles for the AAAAA State Championships at the Green Island Country Club in Columbus. An exceptional showing on day one of the two-day event found the War Eagles just two strokes off the lead but strong rounds from St. Pius X and Cartersville on day two were difficult to match. The War Eagles finished an impressive third overall at the AAAAA State Championships. Sophomore Glover Amick held the low average for the season with a 74.2 with junior Wyatt Seilkop close behind at a 76 average. Low round for the season was junior Aren Patel’s 69 at the Brookstone Invitational, earning him a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
