Dear War Eagle Fans,

The spring sports season was an exciting one in War Eagle country! Our girls tennis team went undefeated for the seventh consecutive year, once again capturing the region championship while the boys team won their fifth straight region championship. Boys soccer advanced deep into the state playoffs after securing the region championship following a perfect 7-0 in region play while the girls team won the region championship for the sixth consecutive year after remaining undefeated during region play. The baseball team also ended the season with a perfect 14-0 record and a region championship for the second consecutive year. The boys golf team came in third place in the state championship while the girls team placed sixth. The girls track and field squad won the region championship with the boys squad finishing as runners up. Girls Ultimate advanced to the state playoffs while boys Ultimate advanced to the quarterfinals. Boys lacrosse advanced to the Elite 8 of the state championship, while girls lacrosse finished as a top five team in the region. eSports placed 16th in the GHSA league that is continuing to grow in popularity throughout the state, and the riflery team finished the season with a 9-1 record.

In this spring edition of War Eagle Watch, you’ll enjoy team recaps from each of our spring varsity sports. I hope you’ll also enjoy reading a piece featured in KNOWAtlanta earlier this year from varsity girls soccer coach Sara Elliot ΚΌ07. Lastly, I hope you’ll enjoy the special feature gallery highlighting the 32 student-athletes who accepted offers to continue their sport at the college level.

I’m so proud of what our athletes and coaches have accomplished this spring season and throughout the year. I remain honored to work with such dedicated student-athletes, coaches, and administrators every day at Woodward. We are truly fortunate here at the Academy!

Go War Eagles!
