The wrestling team concluded the 2022-23 season on Saturday by capturing the GHSA AAAAAA Traditional Team Championship at the Macon Coliseum.
The wrestling team concluded the 2022-2023 season on Saturday by capturing the GHSA AAAAAA Traditional Team Championship at the Macon Coliseum. The War Eagles also had a pair of individual state champions and four other place winners. Junior Tanner Spalding won the title at 126 pounds while sophomore Robby DeHaven captured the championship at 165 pounds. Senior Jaylin Tate was state runner-up at 285 pounds. Senior Peter Sounder, 175 pounds, and freshman Dylan Reel, 150 pounds, took home 3rd place honors while junior Heath Augustyn finished 4th overall at 113 pounds.
The War Eagles have collected a total of five traditional or dual format championships over the last five seasons.
