On May 3–4, 2026, fifth-grader Aubrey P. earned her open water scuba certification at Blue Water Park. She trained with Fintastic Diving Adventures, completing required coursework and in-water skills assessments prior to certification.

As part of the process, Aubrey completed five open water dives over the weekend. Her deepest dive reached 34 feet. Throughout the dives, she met all safety and performance standards required for certification.

Scuba certification at age 11 requires the ability to follow detailed instruction and perform skills in a controlled, open water environment.
