Brothers Parker (7th), and Preston (8th) Wheeler delivered standout performances at the Georgia Age Group Championship

Brothers Parker (7th), and Preston (8th) Wheeler delivered standout performances at the Georgia Age Group Championship, held in Columbus, helping lead Swim Atlanta to a narrow team title.

Parker, competing for the first time in the 13–14 age group, qualified for A finals in all of his events. Preston also advanced to A finals in most of his key races. Together, they were members of every Swim Atlanta A relay team, earning three gold medals in the 400 freestyle relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 200 medley relay, along with a bronze medal in the 400 medley relay.

Individually, Parker captured silver medals in the 500 freestyle and 1,000 freestyle and a bronze medal in the 50 freestyle—an event often dominated by older, more powerful swimmers. He also posted an exceptionally fast 50 butterfly, narrowly missing the podium by milliseconds; that time currently ranks among the top 20 nationally this season in the 13–14 boys age group. His 100 butterfly was another strong swim in a particularly competitive field.

Preston added three bronze medals of his own in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and 1,000 freestyle.

Beyond their relay success, Parker and Preston combined to score 250 individual points, a decisive contribution in Swim Atlanta’s championship win over Dynamo Swim Club, which was decided by just 34 points.
