Lower School Visual Arts teacher Un Lee entered the SketchUp Ascent Competition for K-12 educators, using her student art project, "Design a Sustainable Home." Her entry included presentations created by her former students, current ninth-graders Lorelei Edmison and Maggie Cibula.
Ms. Lee was selected as one of three educators to compete for the final prize at the SketchUp 3D Basecamp Conference in Las Vegas this fall. She will give two presentations to conference attendees about Woodward's sustainability efforts on campus (LEED buildings, geothermal wells, etc.) and how students can imagine and design homes that reflect this mission in the homes they build for the future.
SketchUp is 3D modeling software that is used to create and manipulate 3D models. It is used in architecture and interior design. The annual Basecamp event features the latest in modeling tools, AR competitions, and unique experiences to inspire innovation and celebrate creativity.
