Rising junior Marissa Jones has been named to the USA Volleyball U19 National Team, earning a coveted spot among the 19 athletes on the 2025 U.S. Girls U19 National Team who will prepare for the 2025 NORCECA U19 Pan American Cup, June 24-29 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada this summer.

A standout setter and leader on Woodward’s varsity volleyball team, Jones becomes the first setter from the state of Georgia ever selected to the USA Volleyball U19 national team—an extraordinary achievement in a sport traditionally dominated at the national level by players from the West Coast and Midwest. Jones will join the U19 National Team and train together June 1-7 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

The USA Volleyball National Training Development Program (NTDP) brings together top athletes from across the country for development and training opportunities and has produced numerous Olympians and professional athletes.

As a sophomore, Jones was named Region Player of the Year and played a pivotal role in leading Woodward Academy to a historic 40-3 season and a runner-up finish in the GHSA AAAAA State Championship, all while maintaining a 4.17 GPA. With her selection to Team USA, she now joins the ranks of elite athletes who are not only making waves in high school sports but also gaining global experience on behalf of their country.
