Kindergartner Nova M. competes in national gymnastics meet

Rising kindergartner Nova M. recently competed in the National Gymnastics Association (NGA) Nationals held in Anaheim, Calif. Nova competed against gymnasts from 27 states and three countries, and emerged as the all-around champion for Level 1N (ages 5-8). He earned gold medals on the Pommel Horse and Floor exercises, a silver on the High Bar, and a bronze on the Rings, Vault, and Parallel Bars. 

At 8 months old, Nova began gymnastics at the Little Gym in Smyrna, followed by Clayton County's KidsGym. Currently Nova trains at the James Jones Gymnastics Academy in Jonesboro, Ga. Founded by Coach James Jones, the Academy aims to provide affordable gymnastics training to boys from underserved communities.
