Rising seventh grader David Farnum has been selected to the USA Baseball 12U Southeast National Team Identification Series (NTIS) Champions Cup Team.

The USA Baseball NTIS is the organization's player identification program, giving top youth athletes from across the country the opportunity to compete for future USA Baseball national team consideration. After competing against players from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, David earned one of 30 roster spots representing the Southeast Region at the 12U NTIS Champions Cup.

This fall, David will travel to Cary, North Carolina, to participate in workouts and a championship-style tournament at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Throughout the event, he will be evaluated by USA Baseball national team coaches and scouts.

During the 2026 season, David was one of only three sixth-grade students selected to play on the Woodward Academy Middle School baseball team, where he primarily played shortstop and third base.
