Senior and Eagle Scout Jackson Green received the Distinguished Conservation Service Award from Scouting America. Jackson was one of only 24 recipients of the award in 2025, recognizing his two Eagle Projects centered around nature conservation.

The first project involved removing invasive plants--mostly Chinese privet (Ligustrum sinense) and sacred bamboo (Nandina domestica)--from a dog walking area at PAWS Atlanta. For the second project, Jackson installed dog-friendly plantings around the PAWS Atlanta campus. He noted that the installation planning was surprisingly tricky, as most shade-friendly plants native to the South are hazardous to dogs. The award also necessitated Jackson earning some additional merit badges beyond those required to earn his Eagle Scout rank.
