Senior Rhythm Bazari Receives Gold U.S. Congressional Award

Over the summer, Woodward senior Rhythm Bazari received the U.S. Congressional Award Gold Medal for his volunteer public service and contributions to the community.

As outlined by Wisconsin Rep. Bryan Steil during a presentation of this year's winners on June 14, the Congressional Award recognizes young Americans who devote their free time to an important activity, be it taking on a public service project, pursuing a hobby or new skill, starting a physical fitness program, or going on an outdoor expedition.

Participants set goals in these areas, and their demonstrated success in meeting those goals determines the level of award they receive. The program was established by Congress in 1979 to motivate young people to develop the building blocks of good citizenship.
