Sixth-grader Parker W. swam in the Atlanta Swim Association Championship in June and won four gold medals and set a new Atlanta Swim Association record in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 26.21 seconds.
In July, Parker swam the Georgia State Championship, competing in 14 events and medaling in all with nine gold, four silver, and one bronze. He scored the most points (224) in the 11-12 year old boys category, and received the high score award.
Parker also made the Georgia Swim Team and competed in Texas at the USA Swimming Southern Zone Championship at the end of July. He earned two silver and one bronze medal and scored the fourth most points for Georgia.
