Tenth-grader Marissa Jones was named by PrepVolleyball on January 20, 2025 as one of the top 10 players in the nation for the 2027 class. Marissa is ranked as the fifth overall player in the nation, and the number one player in both Georgia and the Southeast Region, for the 2027 class.
Marissa also was selected as a Gatorade Player of the Year candidate and finalist as a sophomore, a rare recognition for her grade level.
USA Volleyball invited Marissa to participate in the National Team Development Program (NTDP) Winter Training Series at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 26-30, 2024. The mission of USA Volleyball is to identify, train and develop elite athletes to build a sustainable pipeline for future Olympians.
Recently, Marissa and her club team competed in the 16 Open Division at the Nike Florida Holiday Challenge in Daytona Beach, Fla., and took first runner up in the Gold Bracket.
Marissa is a setter on Gabe 16-1 Team with A5 Mizuno Volleyball Club in Alpharetta, Georgia, and Woodward Academy Varsity Volleyball team.
