Eighth-grader Parker Wheeler and ninth-grader Preston Wheeler recently competed at the Hungarian 15–16 National Championships while representing BVSC-Zugló.

Competing against a field of older, highly experienced swimmers, 13-year-old Parker recorded four personal bests, placed sixth in the 50-meter butterfly, won three B finals, and competed on all four relay teams for BVSC-Zugló.

Preston also competed in the national championships, finishing 11th in the 50-meter freestyle in a field where every swimmer ahead of him was at least one year older. He also swam on three relay teams.

During the championships, the brothers had the opportunity to reconnect with Hubert Kós, an Olympic, World, and NCAA champion, who was in Hungary training for the European Championships. The two first met Kós last summer at a swim camp at the University of Texas.
