Students would be surprised to find out that I am from Hawaii! I can speak a little bit of Hawaiian and love eating all Hawaiian food. Hawaii is a beautiful place to live or visit.

Book: The Help. Movie: The Lion King. Performers: Beyoncé and Anthony Hamilton.

What constitutes a “good day” at school for you?

A "good day" at Woodward for me would be Spirit Day / Dessert Day! I love the smiles on my students' faces when they know it's Dessert Day and I love to see all the spirit attire throughout the day!

How did your own school experience influence your teaching career?

In 8th grade I had a science teacher named Ms. Seay. She was the best teacher I ever had. She showed us daily that she cared for us and really wanted us to succeed in her class and in life. I knew she loved teaching and because I saw her passion it inspired me to become an educator.

What is the single most important thing you hope to impart to your students?

I hope to impart kindness to my students. I feel if students learn kindness at a young age it will help make our society a better place.
