2022 SPRING SEASON

The eSports team had a great year, competing against 191 GHSA teams and placing 16th in GHSA’s Smash Ultimate Varsity League.

The team had a great roster, including Hollace Pechter '25, John Brown '23, Grant Andrews '23, and Marshall Fields '23 as the team manager. Woodward knocked out North Paulding HS (Top 64) and Whitewater HS (Top 32) from the playoffs but unfortunately fell to Brookwood HS (Top 16), who went on to win the finals for the spring 2022 season. Woodward ended the season with an overall record of 28-23.

Schools across the state have been participating in eSports since the sport was introduced in 2018, and the popularity of competitive gaming is on the rise. eSports requires a tremendous amount of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity from players to achieve and sustain success. We're proud of how well the team performed this year and are looking forward to the fall 2022 season.
