Eighth-grader Shristi Roy performed with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestras (MYSO) of Atlanta at Carnegie Hall on June 21, 2019, at the Viennese Masters Orchestra Invitational. Shristi plays as the 2nd Chair Violin 1.
As a member of MYSO, Shristi plays with middle and high school students from around the metro Atlanta area. Being a member of the MYSO ensemble requires the highest level of musical skill. Musicians are expected to perform repertoire such as Dvorak #7, Tchaikovsky #6, Beethoven #5, Overture to Slavonic Dances, and more.
MYSO is committed to developing the educational opportunities of Atlanta’s most talented young musicians by offering public performances, sectional coaching, solo performance opportunities, chamber music ensemble training, and scholarship awards for continuing music education.
