On January 6, junior Isan Elba fulfilled her duties as a 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador for the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association). At the annual awards show, Isan's role was to escort Golden Globe winners off the stage.
Since early November, Isan has traveled back and forth to California to give a number of interviews with media outlets including The Hollywood Press, Allure, People, and Essence. As an Ambassador, Isan promotes her own philanthropic activities, as well as those supported by the HFPA, throughout the year. Isan's particular area of interest is mental health, especially among African-American teens. Isan, along with the HFPA, donated $50,000 to actress Taraji P. Henson's foundation, the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, aimed to eradicate the stigma around mental health issues in the African-American community.
