Middle School Teacher Authors Book Collection

Middle School literature teacher Charell Coleman has authored The Brown Girl Resilience book collection, including the recently released title, "I Have A Mayor Named Keisha!" Coleman's book was included in the 2022 Essence Festival and was selected to represent the Day of Service. Prior to her most recent publication, Coleman authored "I Have A Mayor Named LaToya," about the mayor of New Orleans.

Coleman's series pays homage to the struggles of People of Color (black and brown) while sharing their stories of trials and resilience. She writes and speaks about her two core passions: erasing illiteracy and healing trauma from the inside out.
