Seventh-Grader Selected as All-American Athlete by AAU Junior National Volleyball
Seventh-grader Marissa Jones was selected as a 2021 All-American Athlete for the 12U Division by AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships. Jones was one of only two players selected as a 12U Open All-American Athlete from the Southeast Region and one of eight from across the US. This summer, Jones competed at the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championship Tournament amongst 174 teams from across the US for the 12U Division. Jones helped her team earn Bronze and take third place on the 12U Open Level.
The AAU Junior National Volleyball Championship had more than 135,000 attendees and still holds the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest volleyball event.
Jones is a setter with A5 Volleyball Club in Alpharetta, Georgia, and plays for Woodward's Red Team.
