Seventh-Grader Selected for Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra
Seventh-grader Saanvi Goyal has been selected for Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra 2021-2022 program—one of the top 10 largest youth orchestra programs in the country. After Goyal's summer audition, she was selected at the Harmonia level, the intermediate-advanced string ensemble, and began the year-long program in August.
Students typically have two to three years of playing experience in both a solo and group setting. Rehearsals focus on continuing mastery of fundamental string techniques, complex rhythms, and increased level of difficulty in music. Students are generally playing one to two octave scales and solos from Suzuki books two and three. First violins may play in third position. Harmonia performs three concerts per season.
