Sixth-Grader Wins 1st, Named MVP in Basketball Competition

Sixth-grader Kingston W. won first place in the 10-11 Division of the Basketball Hoop Shoot Competition held in conjunction with the Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot Competition. Kingston subsequently went on to win 1st place in the District Hoop Shoot competition for his division in February to qualify as one of three finalists for the state competition.

Kingston also was one of seven players selected to the 6th Grade Boys All-Tournament Team of the Cobb County Junior Basketball Conference (CCJBC). CCJBC is made up of 46 teams. Kingston led his 6th grade Pebblebrook team to the final four in the CCJBC Tournament this spring where they lost in a close game against Langston Hughes with a final score of 51-48. His team ended the season with a record of 27-4 and Kingston was selected as Most Valuable Player.
