Sophomore Lawson Doherty is participating in the 2019 Students of the Year Program sponsored by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)—a seven-week fundraising initiative that runs from January 31 until March 23. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Lawson is working to raise money, in memory of his Aunt Julie, for a young Atlanta patient who is currently in remission.
The mission of the program is to raise money to support LLS as well as to raise awareness about leukemia, the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
