In mid-January, the Upper School's W.A.R.Botics Team hosted Sphero Academy—an outreach event for local Main Street Academy students.
The event used the Sphero SPRK robot to teach the basics of programming through block-based code. The event kicked-off with a presentation about FIRST Robotics and the importance of learning STEM. Woodward students taught the basics of programming and coding the Sphero's using block-based programming. After the presentations, students from Main Street Academy used block-based programming to solve a variety of challenges including Sphero bowling, a Sphero maze, and maneuvering through obstacles.
