Welcome to the George C. Carlos Library
Our 15,000 square foot facility plays a critical role in the teaching process for the Middle and Upper Schools at the Academy. The library has a collection of more than 20,000 print books. Full-text databases and a large collection of e-books are available to students, staff, and faculty.

Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Doors close at 5:55 p.m.)
Late Start Days, 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Early Dismissal, 7:30 a.m. until 1 hour after US dismissal
Loan Periods
Books: 3 weeks, 1 renewal, 6 books per student
Magazines: Overnight, no renewal, 2 per student
Reserve Materials: Overnight, no renewal
Library Use
Water bottles are allowed in the library.
Computers are for school related research.
Please maintain a quiet atmosphere conducive to research and study.
Mission Statement and Collection Policy
The Archives has been created by the Governing Board and the Office of the President and is authorized to coordinate the historical records program according to the Mission Statement. Designated as the sole repository of the school’s history, the Archives acquires and maintains its holdings according to its Collection Policy Statement.
Affiliation with the George C. Carlos Library
The Archives is administered as a unit of the George C. Carlos Library and is housed in the Samuel K. Bohler Room within the Library. The Archives operates according to the policies and procedures of the Library.
Archives Collection Organization and Finding Aids
Manuscripts
Manuscripts include personal papers and artifacts of individuals and are
arranged according to the principle of provenance. These may be accessed through
Manuscripts Finding
Aids.
Departmental Records
Records of the schools activities in any form are designated as Departmental Records and may be accessed through Departmental Records Transfer Finding Aid. These records are cataloged in a numerical Classification Schedule according to their school functions. The collection is also cataloged in MARC Record format as a part of The Carlos Library Athena database.
