Preparing for School Interruptions

Preparing for School Interruptions

There remain circumstances beyond our control. We anticipate, based on CDC predictions, possible outbreaks of COVID-19 that could impact on-campus learning in the future. In the event we are notified by government officials or the health department that we need to close, school will continue remotely.

Circumstances may dictate that one of Woodward's five schools could experience a temporary closure, while the rest of the Academy could remain open. If that is the case, the school experiencing limited or restricted access would move to a remote learning environment for those students. We will follow measures outlined in the Contact Tracing section and the Cleaning & Sanitizing section to contain the spread of the virus as much as possible.

During any period of temporary remote learning, we remain committed to providing an unparalleled academic experience to prepare students for college and for life by providing students with experiential, hands-on learning to supplement classroom sessions.* Our approach around balancing screen time (and not overwhelming our students with busy work) while maintaining healthy work and study habits would remain our top priority. Clear and consistent directions and guidelines will be provided by our faculty every step of the way.
